Continuing the Conversation:
1. Everyone is driven by something they love or desire. Imagine what kind of “finding God’s will” frustrations might be caused by a heart full of envy and “chasing the wind”?
Ecclesiastes 4:4 (NLT) 4 Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
2. In the end, God will judge us for everything we decide to do. How does that impact your desire to fear & obey him?
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (NLT) 13 That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. 14 God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.
3. What does it mean to you to consider that God himself gives His children the will to walk in His ways by giving us a new heart to delight in Him more than giving us a next step to direct our lives.
4. When you think of the challenges or decisions you’re facing now (or faced in the past), would asking yourself any of these 5 bigger & better questions help you more than “what does God want me to do next?” :
a. Am I surrendered & submitted to God?
b. Do I trust & treasure Jesus?
c. Have I put others first?
d. Will I grow in holiness?
e. Where could I make a decision and do something right now?
